Best Vietnamese Pork Roll

In my opinion, this place has the best Vietnamese Pork Roll in Sydney.

This place is so good that no matter what time I go to pick up a $3.50 pork roll - it is always packed. Which means you have to line up. Something that you don't usually see in Sydney, unless you are lining up to get into a night club.

Presenting... Hong Ha in Mascot. Or quite simply the 'Pork Roll Place'. Everyone in front of me had either ordered a Pork roll or Chicken roll.. or (like my bf) both.

We went there at 11am, hoping to beat the lunch crowd...But still... it turned out pretty much the same.

This photo doesn't really do the line-up justice. The counter is a bit further back, and behind the counter were 5 ladies busily working whipping up yummy pork rolls by the minute. Which meant I only spent about a total of 4-5 minutes in line.

I did manage to take a photo of my pork roll before I gobbled it all up. :)

Paté, Mayo, 3 different types of pressed pork with salad, spring onion, corriander and gravy.. all encased in a crunchy fresh bread roll.

So craving for one right now... Grrrr....

yep, i'm 100% agree with AstroGirl. I'm a cabbie by profession and been here and there for my taste of Pork Rolls which I think the good one should include: fresh and crisp rolls, fresh and tender meat, fresh salad, and balance liver patte & sauce.. Hong Ha definetely the BEST~ always open from 6 AM, the freshest meal i can have early morning.

i have to disagree, i love my pork rolls and chiken rolls. i must say the best i found out side of cabra. is actually at a place further down the road at big george cafe the girls there make the best. hong ha closed their shop at cabra because they are shit.

My favourite so far has been the pork rolls at Kings Hot Bread in Hurstville

This is the Hong Ha shop in Mascot. the one in cabra is a bit too far for me as i don't own a car anymore.

i have to point out though only the other shops they have in city are not as good as the one in Mascot..

Pork Rolls to me are pretty much the same all over Sydney, but I will say one thing. The difference is in the bread.

If I have criticism for a pork roll (I usually don't though), it's that the bread roll isn't at all crunchy and fresh.

There's about 3-4 places to get a pork roll in Campsie. But the best one was the one in shopping centre that closed down (and is now BreadTop).

king's hot bread @ hurstville <3
never skimping on the pate :) and the pork isn't just a slab of fat and meat.

craving for it now

are there any good ones in the city area? they'd make so much profit from all the uni kids...

yum yum, but i hate to tell you that its not liver pate that makes them so delicious its actually whats called 'headcheese' - pate like -made from cheeks etc from the pig head.
